Born in 1984 in Belle Glade, FL, Santonio Holmes was destined for greatness. He honed his football skills at Glade Central High School, helping his team win several state football titles. As a triple threat, he also competed well in basketball, and his 4X400 relay team won two state titles.
When he graduated high school, Holmes continued to play college football at Ohio State, becoming a standout wide receiver. He headed for the black and gold when the Pittsburgh Steelers drafted him in the first round of the 2006 NFL Draft as the 25th overall pick.

Santonio Holmes blazed into Steelers history with his precise performance, stellar routes, and game-changing catches. He is well-known for making one of the best plays in Super Bowl history. He caught the game-winning touchdown in Super Bowl XLIII against the Arizona Cardinals. With only 35 seconds to go, Holmes made a great catch in the far corner of the end zone. This helped the Steelers win their sixth Lombardi Trophy and earned him Super Bowl MVP honors.
Asked about the mind-blowing catch later on, Holmes marveled, “I don’t know how he saw me in the back of the end zone.”

- Chicago Bears (2014): Played one season as a wide receiver.
Holmes officially retired in 2017, cementing his legacy as one of the team’s greatest receivers. This Steeler legend is known for performing with excellence under pressure, always putting his whole effort into the field.

He is the co-founder of 10 All In, an organization that inspires social change and motivation among youth. In 2011, Holmes started the III & Long Foundation. Its goal is to raise awareness and provide grants to groups that help families of children with sickle cell disease.
